DIY Waterproof Diaper Covers
During this pandemic, we are all looking to minimize unnecessary trips to the store, and increase resourcefulness! Cloth diapering is a great way to do both of these thing. In this tutorial I show you how to make waterproof diaper covers using a $3.99 PEVA tablecloth from Walmart! I used snaps , but feel free to use velcro as a closure. You can substitute PEVA with PUL, wool, fleece, or any other material you think will work. Cloth diapering is all about being resourceful and using what you’ve got.
You will need:
1- PEVA , PUL, or any other material you wish to use.
2- Coordinating thread
3. Snaps or velcro for closure
4. Your sewing machine. ( Although you can hand-sew this)
5. A pattern. Download my free one here
PEVA is a great material to use for diaper covers, however, it cannot withstand heat. Be sure to machine wash in warm (not hot) water and hang dry ONLY. I recommend using white or light colored PEVA so that you don't have to worry about fading...I learned this after the cute pattern did start to fade after only a few uses. The diaper still works great, though!
